Dolce Rosa Excelsa by Dolce and Gabbana Review
Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa Excelsa: New Fragrance from the Dolce Family
Dolce & Gabbana’s eponymous fragrance collection can be traced to 2014, with the release of the Dolce scent. The collection was soon made larger with the addition of Dolce Floral Drops in 2015, and now, following the yearly trend, we are being introduced to the newDolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa Excelsafragrance here in early 2019. You’ll be able to get it from and other beauty retailers starting with spring.
This new fragrance follows the same storyline as the last, so to speak. The scent reminds one of Sicily, and Italian women, which are two main inspiration sources for Dolce & Gabbana.
This particular fragrance, however, has a fresh, exotic base of papaya blossoms and neroli leaves, but the white amaryllis, which is the known signature ingredient for each fragrance in the collection, can be found at the core. The amaryllis was blended with white water lily and white daffodil to keep everything light and feminine, before adding in the new layers to keep things new and exciting.
Dolce Rosa Excelsa is the first fragrance African Dog rose has been used, and it is paired here with Turkish rose absolute, in order to entice and seduce to senses. But things go a step beyond simple floral tones. As with any luxe fragrance, there is more body to the scent than flowers. There are hints of musk, sandalwood, and cashmere, among other heavier scents to balance out the airy florals, while making sure everything stays feminine.
But even from the presentation it is clear that the floral scents are favored in this fragrance blend. The milky pink bottle is feminine in nature, as the color might as well be the embodiment of simple femininity. The waxy flower that acts as the lid also serves to remind you of flowers, while still giving a small push of boldness. And being finished off by the little black bow literally ties everything together in the end.
This bottle is much like the others in its collection, but this time things were a bit more hardened. From the more artificial looking cap to the frosted pink tinted glass, it seems to suggest a bolder, slightly darker scent within.
Everything from the description of the Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa Excelsa fragrance to the design and execution of the bottle is promising about this new addition to the Dolce collection, and it should do just as well on the market as past fragrances in the line. The others have been accepted for their springtime reminiscence, so this will likely follow in the same footsteps. So once spring hits in the 2019 season, we’ll be smelling new blossoms, but who will know when we’re smelling the actual flowers, or if we’re smelling Rosa Excelsa instead?
